Project : Lok Zomgay after 10 years

Absence of reliable documentation is a challenge for every story teller. The stories we hear are just a mere narrative which are retold over the time. In the absence of documentation, it is hard for us to show interest into some vague narration.  Isn’t this annoying at times? Well, considering this, I have decided to take pictures with my entire classmate as a remembrance. The interesting idea behind this initiative is about reuniting ourselves. Exactly after a decade, I am planning to coordinate the reunion so that we can sit and share about life. In fact, I am projecting this event as huge life time event. Be excited and look forward.

Why picture? The photos I have uploaded here were click over the years and have different stories connected with each photo. And I am yet to add some more photos. We are going to find a time to check this photo after the maturity time of 10 years from today. I hope this initiative will help us recollect our college days and to narrate our stories to  our children, friends and families.

Dashain celebration - Dorokha, Bhutan

I am here at Dorokha which is 3 hours drive from Samtse, Bhutan. I am lucky that I got an opportunity to experience Dashain tika. It is my first time celebrating Dashain. Yeah! It is interesting and lively. But more than a celebration, I realized that it is a time to reunite family members.  Dashain is celebrated all over Bhutan, but especially in the southern parts of the country. Observant Hindus will keep all 15 days, but it is the tenth day, known as Vijayadashami, that is the true highlight. While all Hindus, and even some non-Hindus, might take part in Dashain events, it’s technically a celebration of the “Shaktism” sect within Hinduism, which focuses its attention on worshiping various goddesses, such as Lakshmi or Kali. The first nine days of Dashain symbolise a nine-day battle between good and evil – that is, between the goddess Durga and the demon Mahishasura. On day one, a special pot (kalash) is filled with holy water and sown with seeds that will sprout during the days

Journey of talented Nima Wangdi aka chutur15 to Bhutan National Team

As young as 5 years old kid, he was into football and could not pay much attention to his studies. He would find himself in the football ground along with his friends as fast as a school over bell. At a very young age, he was interested in football and would dream to be a National player of our country. And today I would like to share the journey of Mr. Nima Wangdi aka Chutur15 to the squad of a national football team. He was playing as a right defender until today and from this year he is playing as a defensive midfielder while he funnily shares that position is not an issue for him. 22 years–old Nima is from Samtse and his football journey has started from Samtse middle school when coach Ugyen started training all the kids who are interested in football. He played several matches along with his friends to keep his talents alive. It was in 2011 when he went to Gelephu for National football team selection (under 14) and his dream come true. One day he was called by the vice-principal
